Project Creation Summary
We were four people working on this project; none of us had prior experience with the Maya software. After coining in some ideas two other students were working on the storyboard while I got familiar with Maya. I created almost all necessary shapes models from scratch and used mostly pre-existing textures on them. Animating was the hard part, as we were not supposed to use keyframes, instead it was supposed to be an entirely physics-based chain reaction (known as Rube Goldberg machine). The ball constantly fell out of the machine or jumped around in a way that was unintended. Eventually I remodelled some shapes and changed the weights of pushable objects, which lead to the result seen in the video on this page.
